What is the Process of Solar Panel Installation?

The solar panels are installed on the top of the roof and their life is 20-25 years. But if your roof is old then solar panel installation is very difficult and would not last for its full-service life. So before installing the solar panel inspect your rooftop whether the roof has enough space or not for installation. After installing the solar panel you can start to reap the rewards of generating renewable electricity.
Process of solar panel installation:

Installing the panels on the roof means panels get the maximum sunlight but if you find that installation on the roof is not applicable then mount the solar panel on the ground but make sure that any object doesn't block the access to the sun.
  • Set up Scaffolding
To ensure safety during the installation process erect scaffolding when being on the roof.
  • Install solar panel mounts
Set up the solar panel mounting system to support the base of the solar panels. To have maximum sunlight exposure the mounting structure has an angle between 18 to 36 degrees.
  • Install the solar panels
Once you set up the mounts, install a solar panel on the top of the mounting structure. To make it stable tighten up all the bolts and nuts.
  • Wire the solar panel
After that install the electrical wiring and during the wiring, installation shut off the household's electricity supply. MC4 connectors suit all types of solar panels.
  • Install solar inverter
Connect the solar inverter to the system near the main panel. It can be indoor and outdoor and is more efficient if you kept in a cooler place. Keep the inverter out from the afternoon sun if installed outside. The best place to install an inverter indoors is the garage and utility room as they have ventilation and stay cool for most of the years.
  • Bond solar battery and inverter
Connect the solar inverter to the solar battery and there is no need to worry about lack of usable energy during cloudy times during installation it can also lower the solar battery storage system costs.
  • Connect the inverter to the consumer unit
To generate the electricity connect the inverter to the consumer unit. To amount the electricity solar panels produce connect a generation meter to monitor. The check the solar system performance you can use your computer or other device and you can check how much electricity you generate at different times.
  • Start and test the solar panels
At last switch the power on and test the newly installed solar panel system.

Why does solar require battery backup?

Solar panels are very helpful to collect the energy from the sun and convert it into electrical energy. Through an electrical circuit, electrons flow in each silicon cell of the solar panel and electrical current must flow through an inverter outside of the panel. This will convert the electricity which is used by electrical appliances in your home. Battery backup for solar panels is very important.

Once the electricity goes through the inverter it connects to the electrical circuit of the house. Your home needs excess solar energy when the panels produce more electricity and flow into the electrical grid generating power for other homes. When solar panels are not producing enough electricity to power the home then use this credit to offset the cost of electricity from the electrical grid. The alternative solution is provided by the home battery backup. The excess energy charges the home battery backup instead of allowing power from the solar panels to flow into the electrical grid.
